Executive Summary
Cameron had a productive screen-share review call with his manager/lead going over recent UI work on SmallWorld's Reli feature. The reviewer was generally positive — "Good work, Cam, this is gonna be huge" — but flagged several UX issues: missing loading indicators on filter changes, the frontend JS bundle exceeding 1MB, and the need to remove the third-degree connections feature pending further product work. Key decisions included adding a bulk CSV upload for target companies, passing filter parameters to OpenAI for humanized summary sentences, and folding in an "include non-target companies" toggle. Separately, Cameron mentioned a personal trip through Saturday to help access hardware crypto wallets discovered after his uncle's passing.

# Transcript: 2026-04-24 > 4 time blocks from 2:00 PM to 3:13 PM --- ### Work screen share review call **2:00 PM - 2:21 PM EDT** | *meeting* **Microphone:** Thank you. I'm going to go to the next one. Hey, how are you feeling about that? So I looked at the stuff you sent over. Can you actually just share your screen for a couple minutes? Because it does look generally good, and I don't want to spend a ton of time doing anything to it. Okay, so I'll have a chat with David. We've talked about this before and he is aware that there's no third degree through Reli. Now, just for your own edification, David is actually how we're doing with Reli right now. That makes sense. Yeah, buying centers and levels are fine. I don't love these drop-downs, FYI, or the pill style, but we're not going to change this right now. What I'm going to do is we're going to get through this and come back with the style guide I've been working on across all these other pages and apply it to Reli. Though I did just realize that the front-end JavaScript is now over a megabyte large. So I'm going to need to start thinking about that. Well, I mean, you know, as it begins to replace our entire user interface, it might be reasonable to expect it to balloon. We'll pull some stuff into separate files, but that's okay. We'll get there. The dark company's filter pill menu and the best mobile are only feasible when users are not supposed to accompany it. Can you show me that? Yep, ordering is a little funky there. I just didn't spend much time on it because I figured that this would be a conversation that we had once I got to this. That looks fine. So this would be a pretty quick app, right? A demo-able thing David likes, and we can talk about that later. I don't think you should be at the top. We show like the people's teams separate from the target companies. Yeah, do it just like that. Fold it in as an include non-target companies. We already have that style, so that should be easy enough. Yeah, I figured that would be really quick. It seems pretty fast. I think there's one thing with the loading initially on this page. I think there's just something kind of weird with this where there's just a little bit too much time between when I hit enter or send. Beyond that, I don't even know what to do. The loading is taking too long because there's no indicator, and they're going to press it twice every time, I bet. David's going to press it four times and tell you it's not working. Much like your comment the other day—"Did you refresh the page?"—I kind of do. So like, if you, for instance, right now it says your target company showing up? Okay, so let's say you change it to strong and very strong and you hit show results. Well, that is what was displaying already, but those would show you completely different results. And if you add a level filter, I would love it to expand that out. So in that case, you're saying you'd want to say strong relationships at Apple and, you know, the people in this level? Or you just want to reinterpret it with additional context every time? If I remember correctly, we're passing like the query parameters to OpenAI and it generates that sentence phrase, right? Well, yeah, I mean, currently it's just the search query, but yes, it will have the filter parameters if we did that. And that way we get—that way it also knows how to humanize it properly. It would then say something like "you asked for strong," maybe it would actually say "you asked for strong executive," or it could be "strong marketing," really. I think we can trust OpenAI with that. But that would create a lot of work, and I'm not saying we have to do it. But what should happen in the conversation on the left? I've thought a little bit about that and also played around with it a bit. I just couldn't figure out a better way. It felt weird to me that the assistant would keep messaging me despite me not sending anything. I do think there is a way. I don't think it's an easy way. I think it's not like a technical solution—it's like, from a product perspective, what feels cool. Okay, I'm good with that. So, bulk upload for target companies. I'm like, we should have a link that lets you download a CSV format to use. Yeah, this looks good. I would say small world network. When you don't have a company, make sure those two are together. And then, oh, not together—because you're going to actually merge it. Yeah, that should be fairly straightforward. And I can do that. Okay, sounds good. Good work, Cam—this is gonna be huge. Thank you. --- Hey, how are you? Just until Saturday night, basically. I guess a friend who's a crypto expert might be able to help me access some of the hardware wallets that we got from my late uncle's apartment. Oh boy. Yeah, so work and play, I guess. It sounds like the beginning of a thriller movie or something, like you're going to get access and then there's going to be a small cadre of spies coming after you to get the value in your wallet. Yeah, honestly, I was taken completely off guard by the discovery of all of this stuff when my uncle passed. But for sure, there might be a couple hundred thousand for his kids, so that's the important part, I guess. Mm-hmm. People can take multitudes. What was that? Where's my audio? Okay, I lost you there for a sec. Hey, I think you're back. Oh, okay. Yeah, I gotta look at the other side too. I think otherwise I'll wait to see what you do. Okay, sounds like a plan. **System Audio:** I looked at the stuff you sent over. Can you actually just share the screen for a couple minutes? So I'll have a chat with David. We've talked about this before, and he is aware that we're doing this. We've discussed whether to do anything to it. And then there's the question of the network. He actually thinks removing the third-degree feature causes confusion in multiple ways, which I agree with. So I don't think there's a problem losing it. I think we can add it back in time, but I actually think it needs more product work. Why don't we pull the Small World network thing and I'll make that update. Levels are fine. I don't love these dropdowns or the pill style, but we're not there yet. I did realize the frontend JavaScript is now over a megabyte. I need to start thinking about that. At some point I'll come back with the style guide I've been working on across all the other pages and apply it to Reli. We'll get there. The menu and mobile-only options show up when they shouldn't. So kill it. I actually am okay with looks fine. Don't show bio intent through this interface at all. We're looking into that too. Yeah, it seems fast. I would agree with that. Remember how David uses the levels filter—does it update that preview correctly? Yeah, and I would love that. But if you added a level filter, I would love it to expand those results. Let's say you change it to strong and very strong and hit show results. The loading is taking too long because there's no indicator. People are going to press it multiple times every time, I bet. David's going to press it four times, close the window, and then tell you it's not working. Yeah, I agree. Pressing the button and then waiting for the loading indicator is the issue. So one wrench to throw in—that answers my question. I do think there is a conversation about what should happen when you change these filters. I know it would create a lot of work, and I'm not saying we have to do it. What do you think? I think we can trust OpenAI for that. That way it would say you asked for strong executive relationships at Apple. If I remember correctly, we're passing the query parameters to OpenAI and it generates that phrase, right? One second. For bulk upload of target companies, we should have a link that lets you download a formatted CSV template. I made one. I think Claude is just the best. I'm working on the upload now. We can deploy this on staging and then share with David later. Good work Cam, this is going to be huge. Sounds good. Are we just seeing friends or family? This is like the beginning of a thriller movie—you're going to get access and then a small cadre of spies is coming after the value in your wallet. People can use the mobile version too. Hey, I think you're back. Yeah, I got a website too. I think otherwise I'll wait to see what you do. ### Casual home conversation **2:43 PM - 3:08 PM EDT** | *casual* **Microphone:** Okay, is Ellie the correct way? You want to let Mom in? I'm not trying to occupy too much space. You want another pillow or something? I could learn everything I need. Sure. I don't know. Oops. You said what? It was not a late-same problem. Shut up, right? What's your name? Well, I have such poor posture. We're working with my wife. Yeah, I hope I can see. I'm not a Zoom person, pretty. Okay, did you? That's awesome. Have you planned on a shower, Chelsea? Yeah, I'm really excited. Yeah, I know. I know. I know it was an accident. I just started to scratch it somewhere. I'm barely hanging on. What do you make of it up here like? You're not dying inside? No, I've swallowed all my confusions. Yeah, so it's usually the way things go. Thank you. I don't hate your house. I know. Well, the guy here, he's a trip too. I mean, you were there, right? Remember that one time? Uh-huh. Yeah, that's one marks company. What is this? Is it a sober living community permit? Jesus Christ. His parents want to sit this morning. Yeah, like a Korean for real. Or sequences. Oh. I don't know if I'm lying in the house. Yeah, that's correct. I'm doing that. I remember one of the only times I ever took fun of her, but I got so sick. She's huge forever. Easy. It's very different. Laura, are you hungry? Are you going to be flittering? I'm not hungry on my job. Ha ha. She's more of a mother to me than I really love her. Bravo. But which is okay, I'm like, absolutely. Feel like that would go down the nose with you. They did a good job with it. You can have my card. No. We were at the bar. I don't know what I'm talking about. Saw the wallets over here. I think it's good. I was actually going to say something about carrying lights, but it just doesn't. About what was that? The one year they went and Jerry doesn't think it. Great lengths at Tavis. Tavis is also pretentious. Very different types. High fluid. I don't know. Really did not take him for him. A year. Yeah, a year. I mean, you were over. I guess probably because I probably pushed you down a lot maybe. Not alone. That was everything. I know I don't. Fuck you. Okay, Ash. He's good at all the things that care is not good. So let's give us a slick knickknack because that way we don't eat. Parisian like a little bit of a French jaw cheese. Yeah, I also got that photo on my hair, I mean, whatever on the wall. I was like, you recognize this in walls? Yeah. Okay. I feel like I'm not sure, maybe the past life. Thank you. Wonder well, like the total. I'm sure it's uncountable. Impossible. Impossible. What? Oh no. I'm not. Bye. Let me do it in the kitchen area. Oh shit. Oh, I shut up. It's like, awesome. New York. New York. Let's see. Let's go. Arboros. Know how it shows car. What do you think would happen? Can see. I mean, it has to be like a little bit of an over-exaggeration, but Apple productivity. There we go, this is what you mean. Awesome. There we go. Million, wow. That's also app. You, ah, fuck, where's the barcode? Ticket. You see the email? Here's the receipt. That's how we feel. A walled garden. Right, right, right. If it's not I can be in the car. Okay. You know? For meetings later or no? Exactly. Come here, Chewie. Chewbacca! I'll show you. What's that? This is a week long ordeal. Chippo, what's up man? --- <details> <summary>Background Noise (2 blocks)</summary> ### Brief silence or noise **2:37 PM - 2:37 PM EDT** | *background-noise* **Microphone:** . . ### Brief acknowledgment **3:13 PM - 3:13 PM EDT** | *background-noise* **Microphone:** Thank you. </details>
