Executive Summary
Cam's day centered on two main threads: providing IT support to his former boss (Corbyn/Andy) who is struggling with Windows 11 and the new Microsoft Office apps (Outlook printing failures, broken share-via-email workflows in Word/Excel), and a wide-ranging work session that touched on his SmallWorld employment status — he's operating under the assumption things wind down amicably in June while awaiting definitive answers. The work session also included discussion about AI-powered IT support as a small business opportunity, career advice for a younger contact exploring options at Monster Beverage, and a brief look at emerging restaurant/food service market research. The session concluded with a green light to proceed on a development task using the latest stable version.

# Transcript: 2026-04-27 > 2 time blocks from 12:54 PM to 1:52 PM --- ### Colleagues troubleshooting Microsoft issue **12:54 PM - 12:59 PM PDT** | *meeting* **Microphone:** Hey Cam, it's Corbyn and Andy. What's up, guys? We're trying to find anything out about getting a live Microsoft person that Andy could get with. Like, his computer is still just... Is the new version of Microsoft just problematic in every way? In the interim, should we be concerned? No, and you can be with Kim. I'll call you and I'll get on with you. Yeah, absolutely. Microsoft support. I know you're not like the king of Microsoft, that's why I was trying not to... Yeah, let's get it sorted. Alright, see you next time. Bye. Alright, my old boss has contacted me a couple times trying to get me to help resolve some issues with his laptop. It appears to be Windows-driven, but to describe exactly what's going on, there are multiple issues with his Outlook. He's unable to print, and it just seems like things are catastrophically wrong. I think I need to help him schedule something with tech support, whether it's Windows or Microsoft. I don't know what to do and I need to help him as best as I can. The best paths for recourse are... If you know anything about where to send him for support, please give me some context on where the best place is to get him a meeting scheduled with someone who can help with Outlook in the native Outlook application for printing. ### Work session with employment discussion **1:05 PM - 1:52 PM PDT** | *work* **Microphone:** Yeah, yeah. That'll do, huh? What do you want to generate code from Google? Give me one second, but yes I do. Let me see right here. Alright, ready when you are. 9888. 4600. My relationship with Small World: Currently I'm waiting for the timeline to run out. I was told that in June I would have definitive answers regarding the future of the company. I've already started moving under the assumption that things are going to sort of end amicably in June. But until June comes around, I'm still sort of guessing at this point, unfortunately. Let me see here. Okay, so that's issue one. Okay, let's take a look. The classic issue is the email use problem—we don't have classes. I'm seeing that right now. So now we've got the ability to send new emails, we can send a quick email, and now it should be resolved. Let's send one of these. There we go, great. Yeah, we'll make sure that goes through, but I assume that worked just fine. Let me check here. I can see—yeah, sorry, just a sec. There we go. Okay, let's go to Word. Used to be able to click share, email. Okay, I see. Yeah. So the way that I see this, it might be as disappointing as before—it might just not allow you to send attachments anymore unless you're opening them up yourself and pasting them in. I'm going to confirm that really quick. I can't identify anything that would suggest there's a workaround for this or a better way to do this. Everything you want to say, you can't just be in Excel. Yeah, recently as well, but I would be happy to confirm. You see here, the share options are: share, which allows recipients you select to receive a notification about the file. Copy link is to copy a link to the file—a document that you share, assuming that it's just like Google Drive in the sense that you're sharing a link to a document. So there's already a solution that we use with a link. It's not going to change the fact that you're going to have to force them to see the link here. You can set expirations, which I guess is nice. But as far as I could tell, they're not even letting me download this as a document. I can only—which is insanity to me. Let me see, maybe save as here. Okay, so here we go. There's one way. For you right now: attach. I see, so that technically works, right? But it requires that you go to File. Yeah, I'll do it one more time so you see. Starting point. Yeah, so I'm not sharing, I'm doing file that change file type. I save as. I'm going to set this down. Outlook and I have a new composition open for a new email. I'm going to remove this here. When I click this, one of the first things that comes up is here, which is "job description TM2." And I can attach that and say, you know, "test test one two," a feature of the Outlook Classic or the current Outlook. Yeah, here's... No, it's file explorer. Download it and... it may be crazy but you're right, was just doing and showing. Thank you. I know I spoke, but share via Outlook? I don't know. Or Outlook Classic. Yeah, it's weird that it's not even allowing me to do that, but I was. And there's like a book that you're using. That's what it says when I open Word is "I'm not using Word Classic." Yeah, Word Classic. Ah, yeah. It's really annoying that they've done all this, but here. Yeah, I mean, dragging but just about any document and email that you need to send. Over from here. Yeah, exactly. Which is now pinned to your taskbar and I'll make sure that's fine. Time being looked. While I was waiting for you to call back. Since I've got this new computer, I've been completely upside down. The reason why is because you are sort of forced into Windows 11, I believe. And when they have a new computer available, they sort of do everything in their powers. But I know, I'm giving them too much credit, but I believe it's about a hundred bucks and they'll... I was ready for them to try and schedule you something this week at a Best Buy. I'm strict to do it, but she said maybe it's something Kim could do, because you know... Yeah, I mean, I do believe that Claude can probably do a pretty bang-up job. I think part of it is... although I do think Claude is like, what do you want to use for a project like that? You know, where things stand currently, even in lieu of those issues. So I can spin up something and have a go to this side. Peace with a clone for like small businesses for like 400 bucks. Yeah, I bet they're the same thing. No, it's great money. I've been telling all sorts of times where people need this really badly before this technology. So it's great that he's doing that, but I think now is the perfect time for anyone doing in the business. She's group just to be sure. We had like the same classes. He was also doing, I believe. He mentioned that he was doing something. That's awesome. Zoom, and then you get real problems, and then they're like all fours or 16s in this class and then they put presentations, and then the company's established the main presentation and engine. I shared with him, I had to own the broadcasting rights for the Chicago Cubs team. I think it's a very insightful experience for me. B2B, B2C, B2 Industrial, this new one is the international market. Yeah. Of the value that you can deliver if you truly understand these concepts, you know, landmine. All right. Ready? No, you're totally right. And we're gonna just say it's people that are not really just to get jobs, just to practice interviewing. He calls me and says, "I knew you wanted me just to test him." He said, "I want him to come to work for my company." He said, "I'm going to deserve it. Training program, a three-year deal where he'll work in marketing, he'll work in sales, he'll work in operations." He'll get like a sort of a master's degree in business. That's awesome. I said, I don't think he wants to. Yeah. And I mean, well, of course, like a tender and offer, I mean, that's sort of like, you know, folks that can, um, you know, like I, in certain cases, have signed myself up for had no intention of getting David to do. He can seriously consider it against his other options. And then I think she did after you graduated and told him? Yeah, I would be curious because I didn't know Doug had done it. He asked and he's like, I said, thank you. I didn't study for it, and I need it. I'm not sure where they lie yet. I'd start trying new things until it becomes clear. That's my opinion. For the long term, it's going to be worth it. That joke is that you figure out really quickly what you'll never want to do again. And I said, I honestly could see you doing enterprise software as a service sales, but I know you're big on the marketing and like high-level stuff. Because every week there's a good beverage. Lot of other brands. So he works on a Bang team, he works on a Ring team. Oh, I think that's a great idea, especially if he's already gotten in. Yeah, I think I'll tell you right now, it's not a pretty job market out there. He has a sales team, or what have you. He has opportunity aplenty at Monster. He probably hasn't even thought about could work and really enjoy that. Still needs his skills. So I think it's a catch. The guy who is his, perhaps you know the business. You're gonna have total control. I can't imagine adopting, but totally see some of these beverage manufacturers are going to move quickly so that they can sort of capitalize on it before the good graces of the federal government. So I doubt they're going to be the ones rushing to do that. But yeah, very fascinating times. Smaller GDP than... Well, no, they eat all three. Yeah, who has any extraordinary governance. Because you know it's so worldwide and now you get money back. Yes. I'm getting somewhere between a thousand and two thousand bucks just to move to Alaska. Yeah, and then what was the deal? Norwegian citizen. Yeah. She's a violinist, but she works for the Norwegian government because she's a violinist. She's in the symphony. We got it figured out here. Yeah, that's what I'm on currently. Corporate address, cities, how many units, your phone number, email. Okay, so yeah, we're looking at emerging restaurant service providers. That's true. What do you think is the lower bound then of office units, maybe? Or head caps? I'm from Bel Air. That presentation that you did for core. Oh yeah, because as a kid I didn't get it. Exactly. Can share those small potatoes. The big brand, they're huge in retail. But in food service, plus it's like an eighty percent market share on baked potatoes. You and you're also going to get a steak and then get four of those little potatoes. Yeah, I'm happy to see. Are we out of questions? Do you remember the whole Julia seeking the whole deal of that time? Yes. And I thought that was all twenty years ago-ish. The friends said, hey, right? Gorgeous eighteen year old girl. And we went and did all this Chicago stuff, you know? The same means you and Jules and Eli and everybody have a great day. About three months ago. Bye. No, instead of here, she's been here and very traumatized. I'll be here with streaming wording products I wanted to go. Get a few mimosas, all good in shape. I want to start spending the night at your house like a score, because I mean, I know I'm here, so I'm not gonna do it, but sure. Well, I mean, there must be some shadow of truth to what she's saying. Like, whether or not it's with her whole heart, some minor truth to it. I assume that what she said was not a bald-faced lie or like the opposite of what I'm just... I asked her if she was looking for me to buy or something, you know, the Jewels store, right? Yeah. Well, I mean, yeah, they're like, oh, well, what I would have trying to be frank, like, and that would be like a sign. She's got some strange kink that's been developed, either maybe through ulterior motive with saying that. And she sees that, I'm not sure if she maybe... No, it seems very strange. And she's like, well, nobody would know that whole story. It just left me like I'm not sure. I would definitely take the compliment, but it's uh... Like, I love checking it out with her mother. She had girlfriends sometimes. Lives in Slovenia. In the program. What am I listening to? I mean, I'm not trying to pull away from the fact that there may be some misplaced attraction here. That is still totally within the cards. You need to tread carefully around that, but I mean I assume she just wants the music to stop. She wants to keep going out and having fun and doing stuff. More TikTok and stuff, they're like, because I am trying Déjà vu. And I decided that was the moment in time, you know, publicly in Salinas. Yes. Yeah, well, obviously I'm always here to discuss the past, present, and future. And yeah, I mean, hopefully it doesn't totally ruin. We made a correct decision there and trying to draw a line or a boundary very clearly as to what your guys' relationship should be. Yes, sir. Thank you. I'll know when it's done or some progress has been made. Yep, talk soon. Bye. Let's proceed. You've got the green light. Let's use the latest stable version accurate.
